Does anyone has experience / references about it ?

Am currently controlling my CV stuff using
http://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/silentway.html and outputting via my MOTU
card..

Any references/ideas are more than welcome!

have a great day ( :

I'm getting into this myself right now too.

which MOTU card do you have ?
is it one that can do DC directly or did you need an adapter ?

Hi,

I don't see a reason why wouldn't it work :) Did the same thing in MaxMSP.

MOTU form Ultralite support DC I/O.
MOTU has also developed the Volta plugin:

http://www.motu.com/products/software/volta

BTW, I'm extensively using MOTU's DC out to control various physical stuff, e.g. :

Works perfectly.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but you can also buy a rectifier
from RadioShack or other component store. I was controlling DC motors from
a mic going into an amp for a while with this.

Oh yeah, i know it will work!

( Am currently using Silent Way from expert Sleepers )

But i was just wondering if someone nows how to output the right "voltage"
? As far as i understand should be something really simple like a square
wav or sine wav outputting..

But for instance, the MS-20 expects from -5 to 5V,

How do i know when am outputing the minimun value and maximun value ( in
this case -5 and +5 )? Is there a nice way to test it without plugin the
cable to the hardware ?

For instance silent way and VOLTA have a "calibration" button, it swipes
from low to high frequency and get the feedback and after that it works
like a charm..

thanks a lot

But for instance, the MS-20 expects from -5 to 5V,
also korg and yamaha use hertz per volt
and roland standard uses volts per octave

not sure about practical matters yet. first I have to decide what to buy
and then buy it.

Get a multimeter a try outputting DC signal… Write a little table a figure out the formula :) That is how I did it for my soundcard :)
